The wine auction at Sotheby's New York 2013-11-10
had attracted many bidders from around the world.
The wine selection was impressive as always
and the bids came from the floor via internet and by phone.
528 different lots could be listed at wine-stocks.com
mixed lots were not recorded.
The tradingvolume, without mixed lots was at least 4.971 bottles
the price volume was about $ 1.500.519
The average wine price of a single bottle was $ 302.
The large amount of the wines came from France.
The region Bordeaux set (62,9%) California achieved (7,54%)
of the offered wines,(6,98%) Rhone, Piemont (6,24%)
and Burgundy (5,39%) of the offers from this wine auction.
The prices were under heavy pressure
the global indices weakened and Bordeaux
even Germany lost (-6.5%) / (-8.7%) to the previous day.
The lost of the German is not surprising
because German Rieslings, “Beeren” - and “Trockenbeerenauslesen”
from the Rheingau and Mosel could rise incredible 46% in 12 months.
Bordeaux that has been fighting for more than 2 years
and already suffered more than 20% reductions in the last 24 months.
In the longer historical view, it is not surprising.
The top wines from Bordeaux have had up to 60% increase
in value in the years 2008/2009/2010, that this development
does not just keep running was to be expected.
Nevertheless, almost all wines found a new owner.

Mouton Rothschild and Haut Brion.
