Winecommune wine auctions 2013-10-15
The auction volume in Winecommune after the
summer break was great again.
1494 different lots were offered and sold.
A total of more than 1801 wine bottles were auctioned.
The auction volume was $ 311.925,00
The average price per bottle was $ 172,72
Again there are some wine price records, wines that
never could obtain a higher price at a wine auction.

As expected California USA was represented with the most lots.
(54,91%) of all wines came from this wine region, followed by
the French wine region Bordeaux with (19,16%) of the total
offers. The wine region Rhone as well France, auctioned
(4,61%), Burgundy (4,33%) and the Champagne (3,16%) of all
offered wines. Wines from other parts of the world were just
barely sold.
Duckhorn Vinyard was the winery, on
most searched, followed by Screaming Eagle, both
California. Chateau Lafite from Bordeaux was in demand on the
third place, Opus One and Kosta Brown,
both again from California occupied rank four and five.
The Second Flight, the second wine from Screaming Eagle
vintage 2010 750ml has the biggest sales success.
Many bidders bought the wines from Marcassin Estate
Chardonnay Three Sisters Vineyard vintage 2007 750ml,
Vincent Girardin Chassagne Montrachet Abbaye Morgeot
2007 375ml interrupts the ranks of California wines, it
was follow by wines of Alpha Omega Era 2010 750ml
and Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon 2007 in a 750ml bottle
The wine lovers, food and wine investors
again looked after the young vintages - 2010, then 2007,
followed by the vintages 2005,
2000 and 2003. The bottle sizes were ( 90.70 %) 750ml
bottles, followed by magnums ( 1500ml ), half bottles
( 375ml ) ,double-magnums (3000ml) and jeroboams (5000ml).
Quantities to ( 90.70 %) single bottles, (4.82 %)
2- pack , ( 2.21% ) pack of 3 and ( 0.74) 6 owc
The bottle of wine that scored the highest value was
Chateau Lafite vintage 2000 a double-magnum (3000ml)
with a sales price from $ 5293 followed by a second bottle
Chateau Lafite again vintage 2000 as well a
double-magnum ( 3000ml) which has a wine value
from $ 5260. Screaming Eagle Cabernet Sauvignon vintage
2010 as a magnum bottle (1500ml) reached a value from $ 4535
and a second bottle from the same wine was auctioned for
$ 4507. The fifth place, with a wine value from $ 4331 achieved
Chateau Lafite a magnum (1500ml) from the important vintage
1982. Also cheaper wines were offered and sold.
Miner Family Vineyards Viognier Simpson Vineyard 2001
750ml sold for $ 7 Beaulieu Pinot Noir Reserve 2000 750ml
with a value from $ 7,1 and Ste Michelle Vineyard Merlot 2002
750ml as well auctioned for $ 7,1.
